Interview with Jamie Gold

Jamie gives interview to our Slovak version site - PokerPortal.sk. We thanks him for it!

Firstly, I would like to ask You some standard questions: When and how
did you start with poker?

We always played cards at home with family.

How long did You play in unprofessional level, until You came to
proffesional play?

I played and studied for 3 years then played and won my first main event WSOP,
decided to have two professional careers, poker player and tv producer.

What type of game are You interested in most? Do you prefer Cash Game or
tournament and why?

I like cash games better when I have only a day to play, when I have a week I like
tournaments.

I saw You on the  Final hand on WSOP 2006 Main Event (Q-9 vs 10-10).
What was your feeling during flop /when You told to Paul something/ and
what was your feelling after river?

I thought I had the best hand so I wanted to talk him into it.  It was relief after
the river I played for 14 hours a day for 8 days I was exhausted mentally and
physically.

How did You celebrate this wonderful experience?

Took my mother and a few friends on a trip

Where can our visitors play with You on-line?

I haven't had time to play online last year, just doing interviews, apprearances,
and spending time working and with family.  This year I am open to the right
situation if there is an online site that wants me to commit to playing on there
exclusively.

You had good results on the WSOP 2007, too. What was your last hand in
Event 45, where You finished on a 44 position?

I am sorry I don't remember, there was a lot going on there it was hard to focus.
This year I was disappointed.

What do You think about Johnny Chan?

Johnny is a legend and an amazing player.  I respect and admire him alot.

What is your other hobby besides poker?

I love movies, tv, music and great food and wine.

What is your best poker attribute?

I think I can read other players pretty well most of the time.

What are three the most important facilities or skills of poker player?

Patience, instincts, heart.

What is your poker aim to next years?

In the next 10 years I would like to win another major tournament, the World Series
main event would be nice.

Thank You very much for interview Jamie.
